Thoughts As I’m Cleaning

I’m getting ready for company coming in this evening.  The Johnson’s are missionary team mates of our daughter and son-in-law, Laura and Travis, in Kenya.  They’ve been on furlough and now are heading back.

The land is much different than when they left.  The famine and drought have taken a toll on the people, the land and the animals. I’m sure it will be a shock to them, and so I’ve been praying for them as I’m cleaning and cooking.

romans5_5b The thought came to me, the Lord pours out His love into our hearts via the Holy Spirit. Within that pouring out, He’s given each of us what we need to fulfill the purpose He has filled us with.

We’re His earthen vessels, created to carry Living Water to souls that are parched and in need of Living Water.

Do I just spend that living water by pouring it recklessly on the ground just anywhere, or am I a steward of my earthen vessel?  If I’m a steward, I am serving in the area my Master has placed me and seeing a return on my investment.

What about you, are you spending what the Lord has placed within you, or are you a steward of it?

Thank You, Lord for your servants who obey You and go to places that most of us would not desire to go.  Fill the Johnson’s with fresh water so they may in turn refresh others and bring your Living Water to a parched, dying land.   In Jesus Name, Amen.

Hey Marsha.....I'll keep them in my prayers.

Blessed by your thoughts regarding being "poured out and filled"by the Holy Spirit. I have a friend who is a potter and we've been talking lately about the making of the vessel....the preparation of the clay and the vessel and it's purpose. You comments added some additional anointed insight!

Thanks for sharing and have a blessed visit with your missionary friends!

Sweet Blessings!
Jackie

Praying for the Johnson's... Thank you for reminding us we are vessels of the Living Water and should be stewards! Sometimes it is too easy to "slosh" anywhere and everywhere!!
